The Cabin
Welcome to The Cabin
* Please note we are a bring your own bedding accommodation. We provide a fitted bed sheet but guests need to bring everything else (duvet, pillows, linen, towels etc).*
The cosy Cabin has a warm homely feel with all the essentials right where you need them. Warm lighting and natural wood creates a comfortable space to relax.
The unique DIY style makes the cabin a quirky accommodation, with care taken to be individual. Making it a more interesting than your standard stay.
There is free Wi-Fi in the Cabin and a TV with free view.
The Hot Tub
We have a wood fired hot tub that can be used at anytime. It has an internal log burner which heats the water by burning logs. Heating time can take from 1.5 – 4.5 hours depending on the starting temperature, weather & season, please allow for this when planning your trip. Instructions, an easy light fire log & a lighter are provided on site to help with the lighting of the tub. We can potentially pre heat the hot tub on request if you are arriving late in the evening, depending on our availability on the day. Please let us know with plenty of notice so we have adequate time to organise.
Included in your stay will be an adequate amount of logs for the duration of your stay (3 x days = 3 days worth of logs). We provide enough logs to heat the tub up to temperature and keep it warm for a “reasonable” amount of time. If you want to heat the tub for longer, extra logs can be purchased for £10.
Toilets & Showers
We have simple wooden buildings for the compost toilet & shower, so bare this in mind when choosing to stay in the colder months. Not so bad when you’re internally warm from the hot tub! Never really a problem in the warmer months. There is also a wash up area on the outside of the shower block.
Cooking & Drinking Water
There are cups, mugs, plates, saucepans, frying pans etc inside the Cabin. We have a gas stove that must be kept and used outside of the Cabin. Hot water can be heated via the gas kettle provided. Drinking water is provided by shop bought bottles inside of the Cabin, the taps in the wash up area are not for drinking.
The Fire Pit & Cast Iron Cooking Equipment
We have a fire pit & cast iron cooking equipment than can be used in dry weather upon request, in the summer during periods of nice weather we will leave them out at all times. Unfortunately if there is rain forecasted we would rather them kept stored away in the dry, as getting them wet causes damage to the equipment. Wood for the fire pit is not included in the price of the stay, a bag of wood can be purchased for £5.
The Hammock
A comfy cotton hammock can be used in the summer & during periods of dry weather. If rain is forecasted we would also rather it stored away & kept out of the rain.
Parking
We have 1 dedicated parking space for your accommodation, it is a 40meter walk to the cabin, unfortunately there is only parking by the cabin when the grass is dry. Please pull up to the end of the stone track which extends a few metres past the entrance gate and park your car there, please don’t drive onto the grass unless we say its good to do so.
